American, but Blackburn Rovers all the way. Forest are still good, and a return to the top division would be pretty good for a team that was in such financial trouble.

Thanks Drakey! Although I'm not sure that everyone would agree with you! I love tea though and think that us Brits should remain stiff upper-lipped and use the cool accent more often! Y'know - the posh ones Americans can do so much better than us!

Old Europe - which according to Rummy appears to exclude England for some incomprehensible reason.
I wonder whether fervent listening to the BBC mitigates my Old European age somewhat.

Wisdom grows from trying to find structure in our experience - looking backwards in time - while living goes forward.
Theories are expectations that help us live forward - like possible ways to put the mosaic together. If they are worth the effort to remember, they should predict something and in case the prediction does not work out with time they should autodestruct.
And then there is something that we cannot test - something we have inherited in form of customs, attitudes, culture and the spirit of stories told and retold - that is like our individual SQUARE ONE.
This runs deeper than we can know.

American.

By "football", do you mean American football or soccer? I don't follow either, but still...

Actually, Manchester United is soccer, isn't it?

In Europe people call soccer football. In spanish it is called fútbol. It kind of makes more sense anyway, since you hit the ball with your foot in soccer.

It kind of makes you think about Jean Tigana - he didn't get much mileage out of Saha at all.

Why does everyone associate english with tea!? I'm a coffee girl myself.

As for FOOTBALL, I like manchester united. No,I'm not just a glory supporter, nor am I from manchester. Just don't start me on the David Beckham thing!

Being an American, I will occasionally watch soccer, but generally only during World Cup time. I ordinarily stick to basketball, baseball, and American football.

I don't follow sport-I didn't discover England had won the rugby world cup until almost three days after it happened, which probably comes close to a national record.

When I drink anything hot, it's hot water. Tea and coffee both do you more harm than good, and an apple or a jam sandwich is a better stimulant than a cup of either.

I follow a little rugby, but since they don't televise club rugby except for one occasional highlights programme at an ungodly hour, I tend to only manage to see internationals.

I'm a tea guy myself. Coffee tastes like chalk to me, and all the people I know who drink it are coffee fiends, they say it's addicting. My favorite tea is actually chai tea, I'm a big fan of eastern food (as well as religions too). Anyone else?

I am also a tea person, preferring mine strong, and in classic Indian style, loaded with milk and sugar. Although I haven't tried many different varieties, my favorites tend to be Earl Grey and Darjeeling. I'll drink coffee if tea isn't available, but I feel the need to saturate it with milk/cream and sugar to kill the flavor. The addition of ginger or masala can also greatly improve a cup of tea.

I have a cup of tea nearly every evening, and sometimes more than just one cup. I used to put quite a bit of sugar for flavoring, but lately my taste for sweets has diminished quite a bit. I love herbal teas, especially raspberry and lemon.

My mum seems to live on green tea these days, I have to say I do like it, & it's meant to be fairly good for her high blood pressure amongst other things, but I'm not fanatical about the stuff myself. I do like fruit herbal teas now & then though. I had a really nice one a while back, I think it was nettle and somethin-or other? Mabye blackberry, I could be wrong.

Funny how topics can so quickly....wander. I will sort of try and return to the main topic by asking if there are any fellow Scots on the boards? I haven't noticed any, so if you're there, expose yourself. Um, that came out wrong. But I'm not in that much of a hurry to change it. IMAGE(For all the English kniggets out there_files/biggrin.gif)
